Buying BBQ maintenance and protective covers at The BBQ Store
Proper maintenance significantly extends the lifespan of your BBQ. At The BBQ Store, you will find BBQ cleaners, maintenance kits, wax, and protective covers (also called BBQ covers) for most BBQ brands and types, from kamado and kettle to gas barbecue and smoker.
Protection against the elements
A protective cover keeps your BBQ dry between sessions, while cleaners and wax keep the material in good condition, whether it is ceramic, stainless steel, or cast iron.
Protective covers
Weather-resistant and custom-made for specific BBQ models to protect your appliance against rain, UV, and dirt.
Cleaning agents
Remove grease residue and burnt-on food from grates and inner walls, keeping your BBQ hygienic.
Wax and coating
Protects ceramic kamados against moisture and keeps the outer layer in good condition.
Why regular maintenance is important
Grease residue and moisture can eventually cause damage to grates and burners, and accelerate the deterioration of ceramics or coatings. With the right maintenance products, you can prevent this and keep your BBQ in top condition for years, which also helps maintain the warranty on some models.
Choosing the right protective cover
A protective cover or BBQ cover is only effective if it fits well: too loose and the cover will flap in the wind, too tight and it will tear more easily. Therefore, always choose a cover specifically made for your model and size, with a weather-resistant outer layer against rain and UV and a soft interior that prevents scratches. For kamados, a separate kamado wax is also essential in addition to the cover: the wax protects the ceramic outer layer itself, while the cover keeps it dry between sessions. By combining both, and wiping down your BBQ after each use, you will noticeably extend the lifespan of your appliance.
Frequently asked questions about BBQ maintenance
How often should I clean my BBQ?
Clean the grates after every use and give your BBQ a thorough cleaning a few times per season, including burners and inner walls.
Does my kamado really need wax?
Yes, the ceramic outer layer of a kamado is sensitive to moisture. Regular waxing with special kamado wax prevents hairline cracks and discoloration.
Should I also cover my BBQ with a cover in the winter?
Definitely; a weather-resistant protective cover is especially important in winter: moisture, frost, and snow affect materials faster than in the summer, even if you are not using the BBQ.
